Good addition to my "Wii fitness Set" aka "Wii Fit and Wii DDR"
If you wanted to burn more calories go with Active Life. Unlike Wii Fit, you are required to jump and run faster (considering that you cannot jump on the balance board). DDR can only compete if you play in difficult mode.

I think this will get played more by the kids then Wii Fit.
I got the game before the kids were home from school and played the whole 2 hours till the they got home. I loved it, got all sweaty. The games are simple and more fun and active feeling then Wii Fit. Much more jumping and running and just moving your whole body. So far there seems to be enough variety to keep interest.


I really like that it is easy to change between people. We have lots of kids over of different sizes and it is so frustrating when they are taking turns and to have to change Mii's for each child's weight on Wii Fit. Active Live Outdoor Challenge is very easy just maybe 5 back buttons and choose new Mii and it's changed. Wii Fit is a pain and most times not worth the hassle. So nobodies stats are truly theirs.

Yes Wii Fit keeps track of weight and does strength exercises and yoga so it would be better for working out and keeping track of real exercise. This but this is more fun, for myself and the kids. It is not formal feeling like the Wii Fit, just body moving games. And NO LECTURING from the game.

The only problem I see is that the two players have to share the mat and they have to be pretty close. I would bet money someone in my family (the 7 yr old) will get knocked down and get all mad. But it has plenty of two player games, better then Wii Fit.

PS I have not been able to get back on the game since the kids got home. :o)

I'm not a kid. In fact I'm almost 60 and I bought the game for myself after getting Wii Fit a couple weeks ago and really enjoying the games that are included with that.

I LOVE this game (or series of small games) If you want a good workout and you're a kid at heart, you're going to love Outdoor Challenge. I've only played it by myself so far but I can tell you that it works every part of your body. I was dripping with sweat after 10 minutes. Some of the games you do standing, or I should say running in place and jumping over logs or jumping on a trampoline over water or jumping rope. There's a Mine Cart game where you're leaning to the side and lifting one foot while pumping both hands up and down to propel the cart at ever faster speeds. Or sitting on the mat and rowing with the "paddle" (wiimote) trying to get to the goal as fast as you can.

Like the Wii Fit games, it keeps track of your scores and the scores of others that play so you are constantly trying to beat your best scores and get top scores in the games.

This game is too much fun to waste on kids. Get it for yourself! It'll make you laugh out loud!

I *was* jazzed about this game
Honestly, I came here to get a price and, maybe, purchase the game based on the previews. Then I saw that the game uses one of these virus-like DRM schemes. What a shame. I guess I won't be purchasing Spore until EA pulls it's collective head out of it's nether regions and realizes people don't like to have unwanted cripplewear installed when they *purchase* a game.

DRM? You're kidding me. Way to FAIL.
Unbelievable. I came here ready to shell out $50 for the game. Literally, my credit card is on the table. If it's good, I was going to buy two more copies for my sisters whose birthdays are this month.

FORGET IT. DRM that is based on changes of certain piece of hardware is the most draconian, backwards form there is.

Dear EA: Instead of selling this game and gaining customers who would tell others about it... you've managed to do almost the exact opposite. You've alienated your fan base and created a small army of people who will warn other potential customers about the aggressive DRM.

In a world overrun by private military companies (PMCs), wars are no longer fought over nations or ideologies. Instead, the wars of the future are micro-managed by overarching PMCs, right down to the bullet. New gadgets and abilities fuel Snake's journey deep into the enemy domains of the Middle East, South America, and beyond. New gear includes "Metal Gear Mk. II," the ultimate reconnaissance tool, and "Solid Eye," which gives Snake real-time information on enemies and his surroundings. Joined by a familiar cast of characters, Snake must once again return to the battlefield to confront his lifelong rival, Liquid Ocelot, who is manipulating the world's wars from the one world where soldiers will always have a place. But Liquid Ocelot is not the only one who will be able to manipulate the world's wars--Snake can destabilize opposing forces by working behind the scenes, supporting the local militia as they fight PMCs, creating a smokescreen that allows Snake to move freely within the war-zone. Online Sony has stated that the PS3 will have similar online connectivity and services as the next generation of Xbox Live. Calling it "an always on, always connected device," SCEI's chief technical officer Masa Chatani said the PS3 would be constantly in touch with a "PlayStation World" network "fundamentally based on community, communication commerce, and content." I just bought this in the past few weeks just for the simple fact that I bought a new 52" Sony Bravia television and I wanted a blu-ray player to go with it. Boy was I in for a surprise! The game metal gear is not a game I have played for years but the graphics alone made this game one of my favorites of all time. I also own a wii, which now collects lots of dust and only my younger girls play the wii anymore. I've been a gamer for years and this is the console for the 20-and-up crowd. The wii is fun, but for pure gaming, the PS3 has no comparison. The 1080p graphics and BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY of PS2 games is also a huge plus! The only negative I have had with this console is that it does run hot, so don't enclose it in anything like a cabinet or anything. It puts out massive amounts of heat due to that cell processor running. Have not had any problems with overheating or anything, but stuff was getting warm that was placed around it. But overall, you will not be disappointed in this console. Now, off to try out Madden 09 on this....I can't wait! If you are looking to purchase a PS3, this bundle is the only sensible way to go. -The System- The loaded PS3 the comes in this bundle performs great, is very quiet, and has been kind to all of my disks thus far. It can run a little bit warm at times, but certainly cooler than my old ps2 gets after a few hours of play. The controllers are great, and have plenty of life to them (I played on one controller for almost 12 hours and never got a low battery warning). Blue Ray movies look great as well. The additional media ports are great as well, making it easy for me to upload photos and such with an SD card or thumb drive. The internal wi-fi capability works fine for me, even though the system is one floor below my wireless access point. -The Game- Metal Gear Solid 4 is the final piece to the extensive saga that is Metal Gear. The story moves quickly, can be confusing at times, and is quite long-winded. These aspects of the game are par for the course, however, and fit well with the overall presentation of the game, which is that of an interactive movie more often than not. MGS fans will notice that there is more attention on action in this title than in previous ones, but by no means does that mean the game shouldn't be considered "firmly seated" in the stealth genre. Kojima and Co. also made great efforts to mix things up for the player at several points in the game. Taking a break from sneaking around for 3 hours is nice. The graphics are absolutely fantastic, and take full advantage of the PS3's capabilities. -The Bundle- This bundle is a great value. You get an upgraded controller (dualshock 3) which I MUCH prefer to the plain Six-axis, solid HDD space (I upgraded mine, but 80gb is fine for regular users), a GREAT (I repeat) GREAT game, emulated backward compatability (I like being able to play my ps2 favorites without having to keep my old ps2 around), a stronger internal chipset (90nm), and extra media ports to boot. The tricked out ps3 is worth $500 alone IMO, all of the extras will pretty much seal the deal for anyone who hasn't already bought a PS3. Replace my 360 with a PS3 PS3 Pros -On the PS3 online gaming is Free. They are not charging you 50 bucks a year so you can play online. Should be free in the first place. -Bluray Player included -Upconverting to 1080P assuming you have a Full HD TV and use HDMI -7.1 -No advertising all over the dashboard like MS does -No Overheating Now most of the games that are coming out on the xbox360 are coming on the PS3 -You can upgrade your drive (you must use a SATA laptop hard drive. 5400 RPM is recommended as the firmware sets the read write access speed) -It is Quiet -Don't have to buy a wireless adapter it comes with it. almost 100 bucks for the xbox 360 -The unit can read xvid and divx. -Controller Rumbles. Just make sure you have patched your games. (without the patch the controller doesn't rumble if you play Resistance). -The graphics are as good as the one's on thexbox360 (if not better). As matter of fact I'm not a convert I'm just going with what is better for my wallet and gives me more. With the latest firware the PS3 really delivers. IT is only going to get better. AND THE BEST FOR THE LAST It comes with Folding@home. Love that feature Cons: My PS3 does about everything but doesn't wash my dishes. Sigh I sold my 360 because that piece of junk died on me after 6 months. Had to ship it back to ms and was without a console for a month. Bought a second one and that one died too. I'm so done with the 360. I had some great moment on the xbox dont get me wrong but it is time to move on. Too much advertising on the dashboard...anoying. For the people paying the 50 bucks it should be advertising free.

Rock Band Drum Set
The game itself is ridiculously fun. The drum kit pedal needs to be reinforced however. After a few weeks of stomping, it will crack. There are plenty of aftermarket metal replacements for this problem. The new drum kit is rumored to have a metal foot pedal.

I look forward to the Rock Band 2 kit and to the Guitar Hero World Tour kit as I use this every day. I'm completely addicted.
